CHIANG MAI, THAILAND, July 2023 — Ling, the leading app for language learning, is proud to announce its rebranding launch that will transform the way users learn languages, visible on both the website and mobile app!

Together with Digital Project Agency Buzzwoo, Ling is excited to roll out its fresh new logo, dynamic color scheme, revamped user interface, and more, so that users can experience language learning like never before.

“This has been in the making for over six months! It required our designer to work very closely with every team in our company to create the masterpiece it is today,” says Co-Founder Simon Bacher.

Who Is Ling?

Ling is a mobile ed-tech company based in the mountainous city of Chiang Mai, Thailand, with remote team members working in all corners of the world.

The app started as a way for Simon to learn Thai, his wife’s, and now fellow co-founder, native language, but it quickly gained traction among language learners. That prompted the couple to quit their jobs and pursue the Ling app full-time.

Together with their young and dynamic team, native language experts, and the designers at Apple, they’ve since added 60+ languages to their app!

What Are The Key Features Of The Ling App?

  • 60+ language courses (with new languages added frequently)
  • 200+ lessons per language
  • Retention-focused lesson structures
  • Beginner, intermediate, and advanced vocabulary, phrases, and topics
  • Course content made in collaboration with native speakers
  • Grammar tips with practical examples
  • Ability to practice conversations with a smart chatbot
  • Receive instant feedback on your pronunciation
  • Short exams to test your knowledge

Six years after its initial launch, Ling has received 10+ million downloads and an average rating of 4.7 stars on both the App Store and Play Store. In 2021, Ling was also featured as one of the best apps for education in the App Store!

What Has Changed In The Ling App?

“We’re dedicated to bringing users as many high-quality language courses as possible. But quality doesn’t only come from content. It comes from high user engagement and user satisfaction. That’s why we wanted to update everything in the app, from our beloved monkey to our lesson plans,” says Co-Founder Kanyarat Nuchangpuek.

The rebranding efforts at Ling reflect the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence. The new logo and slogan – Connect through language – capture the essence of Ling’s forward-thinking approach, symbolizing growth, connection, and the global community of learners it serves.

Ling’s revamped color scheme brings vibrancy and energy into the user experience, creating an environment that’s both inspiring and engaging.

The user interface has also undergone a serious transformation. Navigating the app is now more intuitive than ever, allowing learners to focus on what matters most: building their language skills effectively and efficiently.

In addition to the visual updates, Ling has enhanced its features to ensure learners receive an immersive and comprehensive language-learning journey. Updated lessons incorporate the latest linguistic research and cater to learners of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Interactive, immersive exercises also provide a more hands-on approach, in an effort to foster a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

How Does The Ling App Reflect Who We Are As A Company?

Behind the Ling app is a team of inspiring, entrepreneurial minds working to bring users the best language-language experience possible. And we want our app to reflect some of the company’s core values.

First, we are a diverse set of people from all different countries and backgrounds. Even though our mascot comes from the Thai word “ling,” meaning monkey, Ling can adapt to over 60 cultures and speak over 60 languages. Ling is a true global citizen, just like each of us.

Second, we believe that teamwork is the only road to success. With our newest brand launch, friends Ling and Gaia can take that language journey together, all while collecting banana points!

Third, we like our achievements to be rooted in at least a little fun. Ling might make some mistakes from time to time throughout his language-learning journey, but he never gives up. Learning a language requires hard work and dedication, but it should also be fun.
