Because he resembles wanted mobster Shinda, the cops apprehended him as soon as he landed in America.

Ekam is an innocent man, so Jasmin hired a well-known American attorney to represent him in court. Between investigations, the narrative flashes back to reveal who Shinda was and how he became a mobster before passing away one day. So, did he really pass away?
