The 12th Rabiul Awwal, or Eid Milad-un-Nabi, celebrates the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). On this day, Pakistanis carry out processions, prayers, and gatherings to recall the teachings of the last Prophet. Shab-e-barat is the night of forgiveness that is observed on the 15th night of Shaban. In Pakistan, Muslims pray intensely throughout the night and visit graveyards to ask for their forgiveness and keep fast the next day.  شبِ باراتShab-e-barat
Shab-e-Qadr is the night of power that is observed on the 27th night of the month of Ramadan. The day of the 27th of Ramadan is a holiday. The Day of Arafah is a significant day during the Hajj, commemorated on the 9th Zilhaj annually. It is a day to seek forgiveness and mercy from Allah. عرفات کا دن / یومِ عرفہArfat ka din/ Youm-e-arafah
Shah Abdul Bhittai is one of Aulia Allah (Sufi saint). His Urs (death anniversary) is celebrated on the 14th of Safar in his mausoleum every year. Summer Vacations

In Pakistan, summer vacations fall in June and July and sometimes extend to August. These generally last 6–8 weeks, but it strictly depends on the hot weather conditions. For instance, this year, the summer vacations were extended to 15 August, considering the extreme weather.

Winter Vacations

In Pakistan, winter vacations occur in the months of December and January and last for 2–4 weeks. Yet, the same is the case with winter vacations. The holidays depend on the extremity of the cold weather.

How Do You Say Holidays In Urdu?

In Urdu, we say ‘holidays’ as چھٹیاں (chutian). Another Urdu word for ‘holidays’ is تعطیلات (taa’tilat). These are two words that refer to holidays in Urdu.

1. Do Muslims Celebrate Mother’s Day?

Not all Muslims celebrate Mother’s Day due to Islamic connotations, so it is a personal and cultural preference. There isn’t any specific religious observance of Mother’s Day in Islam, as parents should be honored daily in Islam. However, some Muslims do consider Mother’s Day as a special opportunity to celebrate their mothers with love and embrace. They give their mothers gifts, cook their favorite food, recite Mother’s Day quotes in Urdu, or spend a day out to appreciate their mothers.

The 12 Islamic Months in sequence are as follows:

  2. Safar – صفر
  3. Rabiul awwal -ربیع الاول
  4. Rabi uthani – ربیع الثانی – rabi’us sani
  5. Jamad-ul-awal -جمادُ الاول
  6. Jamad-us-sani – جمادی الثانی
  7. Rajab – رجب
  8. Shaban – شابان
  9. Ramadan – رمضان – ramzan
  10. Shawal – شوال
  11. Dhul-Qadah – ذُوالقعدہ – zul-qaddah
  12. Dhul-Hajj – ذالحج – zul-hijjah

3. What Is Mubarak?

Mubarak مبارک is an Arabic and Urdu word to congratulate someone. Urdu-speaking people also use this term to convey their well-wishes to their loved ones. They say مبارک ہو (mubarak ho), بہت بہت مبارک (bohat bohat mubarak), بہت مبارک ہو تمہیں (bohat mubarak ho tumhe) to congratulate anyone in Urdu.
