Time Zone In Albania

With Tirana as its capital city, the standard time in Albania is Central European Time (CET +01:00). So, it is 1 hour ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC +01:00), and the same thing goes for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT +01:00).

The current time zone offset in Albania is CEST (Central European Summer Time), one of the well-known names of UTC+2 time zone, which is 2 hours ahead of UTC and GMT. The time offset from UTC can be written as +02:00. It's used as a DST (summer daylight saving time). During the winter, CET - Central European Time(UTC+1) is in use.

In other words, in Albania, the clocks go forward 1:00 hour at 02:00 on Sunday, March 28, and back 1:00 hour at 03:00 on Sunday, October 31.
The period when the clocks are 1:00 hour ahead is called daylight time - Central European Summer Time. There's more daylight in the evenings and less in the mornings (sometimes called Daylight Saving Time).
When the clocks go back, Albania is on standard time - Central European Time. Some locations use CET all year long, but Albania isn't one of them.

In case you didn't know, some other countries and cities share the same time zone as Albania (UTC/GMT +2):

Now you’ve learned how all the twelve months sound in Albanian, how do you read the dates? This is going to be an easy one since you’ve mastered all the elements that make a date, which are numbers, counting, and months.

Firstly, in Albania, the typical format for a date is DD/MM/YY. Now that the month part is covered, how would you pronounce the day and year? Well, it’s precisely the same as the basic Albanian counting before! Let’s pick a date and make that as an example:

26. 3. 2020

njëzet nder (26) tre (3) dy mijë e njëzet (2020)

So, if you want to ask someone “what time is it” you should say: “Sa eshte ora?

And if you want to respond to the same question, just say: “Njëzet nder tre dy mijë e njëzet” (26. 3. 2020)
