If you get asked the question Θέλετε κι άλλο μουσακά; (Thélete ki állo mousaká? – Do you want more moussaka), the only acceptable answer is “Yes!”. But how to say that in Greek? Use the Greek word Ναί (Naí – Yes) to answer affirmatively to this question. Here’s an example:
Person 1: Σου αρέσει το φαγητό? (Sou arései to fagitó? – Do you like the food?)
Person 2: Ναί. Είναι νόστιμο! (Naí. Eínai nóstimo! – Yes. It is delicious!)
How To Say No In Greek
If, in a complete moment of craziness, you decide to say that you don’t want more Moussaka, the word you should use is Οχι (Ochi – No). Here’s an example:
Person 1: Δεν θέλετε να πάτε σήμερα; (Den thélete na páte símera? – Do you want to go today?)
Person 2: Όχι, πάμε αύριο.(Óchi, páme ávrio. – No, let’s go tomorrow)
How To Say Ok In Greek
Another word that is very simple but also very important in your daily routine in Greece is the word Ok. Although if you use this same word in its English form you will be understood. Another word you can use is Εντάξει (Entáxei – Okay) to express agreement with the other person. This option is wordier, but it will definitely show others your expertise in this language!
