Remember! Don’t Cut Your Hair On Wednesday!
As you might already know, Thai people are superstitious and they have some ancient Thai beliefs. Not getting a haircut on Wednesday is one of them! Thai people usually don’t go to the hairdresser on Wednesday unless they have no other choice because they think it brings bad luck.
It is thought to have originated from the day of agriculture in ancient Siam. There used to be an idiom that meant “Don’t cut on Wednesdays and don’t pull out on Thursdays”. As the time passed, this “no cutting crop on Wednesday” idiom evolved into “no cutting hair on Wednesday“.
